Hector's Enchiladas
Lynley Jones
This week, we contemplate life's most important lessons.
Return to A Series of Unfortunate Recipes: The Messy Middle homepage.
In his barn on the outskirts of the Village of Fowl Devotees, Hector secretly collected an assortment of things that were against the rules, such as mechanical devices, books, and objects designed for recreational biting. When Klaus Baudelaire had a very brief chance to peruse all the books in Hector's barn (a phrase which here means frantically search for a way to save Jacques Snicket), he came across a book with an interesting title: All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten. This is an interesting title, because it prompts many questions such as "What school did you go to?" and "Who was your teacher?" and "Did they really teach lockpicking at your kindergarten?"
To my knowledge, Hector never wrote a book about elementary school, but if he did it would have been called All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Second Grade. This is because Hector learned to make enchilada sauce from his second grade teacher.
To my kind Webmaster,
Please attach Hector's recipe for Guajillo Enchilada Sauce, along with his recipe for Chicken Enchiladas, which is a pleasant dish over which to contemplate the meaning of obscure poetry and the location of any friends who may be missing.
With all due respect,
